VIETNAM IS THE 4TH BIGGEST MARKET SUPPLY NATURAL RUBBER FOR GERMANY

Department of import and export (Ministry of Industry and Trade) leads the statistics of the international trade center (ITC) said, 2021, Germany imported 974,4 thousand tons of rubber (HS code: 4001, 4002, 4003, 4005), valued at $ 2.38 billion, a 16% increase in production and increase of 38.7% in value compared to the year 2020. Which, the Netherlands, Ivory Coast, France, Russia, and Thailand are the 5 largest markets supply rubber for Germany in 2021. Remarkably, imports from these markets are increasing both in production and value compared with 2020.

In 2021, Vietnam is the 10th market supply rubber for Germany with 40,58 thousand tons, worth $84,37 million, up 29,4% of production and increase 77,7% in value compared with 2020, the Vietnam rubber market share in the total amount of imported rubber of Germany accounted for 4.2%, a slight increase compared to 3.7% by 2020.

In 2021, Germany imported 279,27 thousand tons of natural rubber (HS code: 4001), valued at 554,14 million, up 22.9% of the production and an increase of 58.3% in value compared to 2020. Ivory Coast, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia are the 5 largest markets that supply natural rubber for Germany in 2021, imports from these markets are increasing both in production and value compared with 2020.

In 2021, Vietnam is the 4TH market supply rubber for Germany with 40,58 thousand tons, worth $84,25 million, up 29,4% of production and an increase of 77,8% in value compared with 2020, The Vietnam rubber market share in the total amount of imported rubber of Germany accounted for 14.5%, an increase compared to 13.8% by 2020.

In 2021, Germany imported 531,05 thousand tons of natural rubber (HS code: 4002), valued at $1,3 billion, up 14% of the production and an increase of 37,6% in value compared to 2020. The Netherlands, Russia, the United States, France, and Belgium are the 5 largest markets that supply synthetic rubber for Germany in 2021.

The market structure providing synthetic rubber for Germany in 2021 had changed when the market share of synthetic rubber of France and Belgium fell; while the market share of the Netherlands, Russia, and the United States increased. According to data from ITC, Vietnam has not engaged in providing synthetic rubber for Germany in 2021.
